‘Leave Only Footprints’ examines the idea that tourists, tourist operators and Government decisions impact communities and nations. The unit is designed to enable the students to explore the nature of tourists and tourist destinations at a local, national and international level, and to develop an understanding of the impact of tourism on individuals, communities and the environment. Finally, students will examine how people and groups respond to the impacts of tourism, and the drive towards sustainable tourism.
